The project story
CALICE DIGITALE is a new take on the wine product, created by Fondazione ITS Agroalimentare Piemonte together with partner Annoluce SAS. The project was born within the ITS 4.0 programme to combine Piedmontese wine with digital technologies, turning a great tradition into an innovative product.
A wine, an NFT
A fine bottle of wine from a prestigious Piedmontese winery will be sold on the Anglo-Saxon market over the Christmas season, paired with an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) that certifies the wine's provenance. Blockchain technology thus becomes a guarantee of authenticity and value for the consumer.
The special gift
Inside there will be a special gift: an MP3 file containing the story of Davide Rizzio, a Piedmontese minstrel of the 1500s. The storytelling turns the opening of the bottle into an immersive experience, where product, territory and technology meet.
The results
The project ranked first in the “Immersive Technologies” category at the ITS 4.0 Challenge 2022. ITS 4.0 2022 is a project promoted by the Ministry of Education, developed in partnership with Ca' Foscari University of Venice: 53 technology innovation projects version 4.0 created in collaboration with 65 ITS foundations across Italy, 70 companies and more than 500 students.
